The Light Keeper and the Worst Wish
The Light Keeper Series, Book 3

One wish is all it takes.
When Isaac and Yara's quest to defeat the Southern Knight and keep the Southern Passage from opening leads them to Uganda, they believe that's where their troubles will end. A clever djinn tricks Isaac into making a simple wish to change everything.
Yara and Isaac are transported to a new universe-- one where Isaac isn't a Light Keeper and has no memories of his former life.
It falls to Yara to convince Isaac to become the hero he was meant to be, but there's just one problem. Any time Isaac experiences something new, he resets, becoming a different version of himself.
With enemies out to get them and the threat of Southern Passage opening, will Yara break Isaac's wish before it's too late? Or will they be stuck in the Wish World forever?
Notable Characters

Issac
Almost 14, Isaac is more determined than ever to stop the next passage from opening. He dedicates himself to training and preparing for the upcoming fight. After going through several versions of himself in the Wish World, beyond wanting to stop the knight, there is one thing Isaac knows for certain, Yara is his best friend and he wants her in his life. They are a team.
Yara
Preparing for an unknown enemy in an unknown location pushes Yara to the brink of insanity. She deals with doubt about her Guardian skills and keeping Isaac safe. In the Wish World, she stops at nothing to find her way back to the real world and her Light Keeper. She vows to be a better partner to him and stop hiding on the sidelines. When the world continuously lets her down, Isaac is there.

Cristo
Cristo did not ask to be released again, nor expect it. Agreeing to help Isaac and Yara beyond the tasks he now owes increases his odds of reuniting with his family. Adjusting to living in a basement and working with teenagers is not his idea of a good time, but he can appreciate the risk they are undertaking.
Djinn
Djinn are one of the few faerie-types who possess the magic to create. They are clever and delight in twisting the words of the wishers. After leading Isaac to wish that he wasn’t a Light Keeper, the Southern Knight observes in the background. Once the wish is broken, he plays many tricks to keep Isaac and Yara away until he can open the Southern Passage.

Jess & Jay
Maybe they aren’t the real Jess and Jay, but in the Wish World, Isaac doesn’t know that. They are exactly as he remembers them-- his best friends. The duo always has Isaac’s back, whether it’s joking along with him, backing him up against giant snails, or riding into the knight to save a friend.
Did you Know?
- I chose Uganda as the location for the Southern Passage simply because someone asked. A user had messaged me on Twitter while I writing book 2. He was from Uganda and was asking authors to consider the location, saying it was a beautiful country. Since I knew the passage would be *somewhere* in Africa, I decided why not and then I researched the area to see where in the country a passage to the faerie world might open.
- While we meet 6 versions of Isaac in the Wish World, there are technically 8 versions we see. Pure Isaac, who traveled to Uganda and made the wish, versions 1-6, and Changed Isaac, who is stuck with a whole new set of memories and feelings after the Wish World
- The draft I sent to my developmental editor did not feature a huge battle with Balon and had Isaac close the passage with little fanfare because I didn't know how he was going to defeat a djinn. She said the scene was disappointing (it was). I also had to make big changes to the final scene in New Orleans when the kids are attacked by the soul suckers. I changed the character they visited to Madame Charcheuse and gave her the magic-stealing crystals, solving both problems.
