The Light Keeper and the Other World
The Light Keeper Series, Book 2

The faerie world is no place for a human.
Isaac and Yara’s search in London for answers about Prince Teris’s disappearance comes to a halt when two powerful faeries abduct Yara through a portal. Isaac must venture to the magic-starved faerie realm, where danger lurks in every corner, and allies are hard to find.
From dangerous man-eating trees to sparse deserts with voices that call out in the night, Isaac faces challenges beyond his wildest imagination. Yet, his determination to rescue Yara fuels his every step.
Meanwhile, Yara refuses to be a damsel in distress. Unaware that Isaac is coming, she forges unlikely alliances and uncovers a startling truth about the mall portal.
Will Yara and Isaac reunite and find their way home? Or will their time in the faerie realm alter their destinies forever?
In a world where nothing is as it seems, the bond between two friends and the power of resilience and courage will be put to the ultimate test.
Notable Characters

Issac
At 13, Isaac is excited to learn more about being a Light Keeper. Part of that is taking responsibility. He doesn’t think twice about going after Yara once she is taken. Even though he is scared and alone, he doesn’t lose heart. He also finds a new appreciation for the way Yara plans and what she knows.
Yara
After keeping her secret for 13 years, Yara was scared how others might respond, but knew she could trust Isaac when he didn’t overreact. While in the faerie lands, she learns the importance of being flexible and brave enough to take risks. She comes away with a new appreciate of how Isaac goes “all-in” no matter the situation and adapts to changes as they come.

Charlie
Charlie is about 19 and has been a Light Keeper for about 5 years when he meets Isaac and Yara. He is used to being on his own and likes to be the one calling the shots. Isaac admires Charlie’s preparedness and how he takes on faeries all around the UK. Even though he offers his help to the kids, Charlie keeps some secrets to himself.
Daughters of Teris
Aurelia, Ayla, and Liliana are Prince Teris’s daughters and the princesses of Highwater. They all lost their mothers at young ages and were raised in the palace lifestyle. They are clever, kind, and at times, mischevious. They find Yara’s appearance exciting and do their best to be welcoming even when she makes it clear that she intends to leave.

Gizmo
Gizmo is a faerie supplies-- he moves items between the human and faerie realms. He doesn’t takes sides, only money. If you have enough money, he’ll get you whatever you need, whether you’re a Light Keeper, a faerie, or a supporter of the High King. He has a soft spot for kids and keeps a safe area below his store for others to rest and recover.
Did you Know?
- Originally, Isaac and Yara receive a clue about Charlie from Gizmo and they find him at a favorite restaurant of his by leaving him a note.
- The bolwrog initially only appeared in chapter 1, but when my editor suggested that scene was unimportant and should be cut, I added the other to the desert. Earlier drafts did not have Isaac facing a faerie prior to meeting the dragon.
- When Isaac finds Yara in the palace and sees her all dressed up was inspired by a small scene of the Indigo League season of Pokémon where Ash sees Misty all dressed up for a festival and finds himself somewhat speechless.
